Frequently Asked Questions
What is the purpose of this website?
The idea is to essentially create an open publishing community that uses a copyright framework to enable members to share resources without fear of breaking the law, but also protects the interests of the original creator.
We hope in time that this website can be used to help you collaborate on multi-media projects.
This website is a part of the work of the Dig Tree project in helping the church develop and use multi-media and technology in its mission.
What does this site contain?
The Dig Tree contains multi-media resources that people (you included) have created. We have a pretty broad definition of what multi-media is but it does include:
- Backgrounds for use with video projection
- Powerpoint Presentations
- Video content
- Audio content
- Liturgy
- Worship ideas
- Prayers, poems, and prose
If we find good multi-media resources elsewhere we will also write about them.
When are you going to have some content on this website?
This website will be only as good as the members of the community make it. Contribute your stuff. The Dig Tree is an open publishing community which encourages members to share their creations. The project will only be a success if members are willing to share their creations. Being a member of the Dig Tree community is not about being a consumer - the idea is for you to be creators, contributors, and curators.
Do I have to register?
While there are things that you can download and use without registering - not all content is available without registering. This is because we do want to know who you are and part of the registration process is the acknowledgement that you will abide by the rules of the website.
I know that 2 + 2 equals 4 but it tells me I am wrong! What is happening?
Sorry, there is a known problem with accessing the website using the following web browsers: Konqueror. We are waiting for the software people to work out how to fix the problem. In the meantime, the browsers that are confirmed to work properly on this website are Firefox and Internet Explorer. If you are having difficultly with this try using another browser.
I haven't got a registration email, is it working?
Sometimes email clients (and especially hotmail.com and yahoo.com accounts) treat the welcome message with your account information as junk email and file it as such. Please check your junk email folder, or temporarily turn of the filter that deletes such messages.
